The Lockitron app reports an invalid serial number during setup

If you see a message reporting an "Invalid Serial" number while attempting to enroll Lockitron Bolt, this typically indicates a factory set up error. Please reach out to  support@lockitron.com so we can help.

Crowdfunded Lockitron

Typically a crowdfunded Lockitron will show "invalid serial" if you've removed it from your account while it wasn't connected to WiFi. To correct this you will need to:

  1. Go to the support page in the mobile apps
  2. Select "Update WiFi" and use BlinkUp to add the WiFi credentials
  3. Once the device connects, the LED should turn green
  4. Clear WiFi
  5. Go through the set up process where the serial number should be recognized.
